About the event
This year’s edition of the competition focuses on two core themes:
Theme 1: AI & Environmental Praxis — Regulating India’s Green-Tech Future
This theme explores AI’s role in environmental governance, climate-tech regulation, e-waste and energy use, AI-driven environmental assessments, and accountability for algorithmic decisions that affect ecological outcomes.
Theme 2: Privacy in Praxis — India’s New Digital Privacy Regime
This theme examines key questions under the DPDP Act, including data scraping for AI training, facial recognition, verifiable consent for minors, cross-border data flows, and the tension between India’s consent-centric model and global standards.
Writers may adopt doctrinal, comparative, empirical, or policy-oriented approaches within these broad areas.
